Making Music

Living in the Now Newsletter
October 27, 2018

Much of the music that we hear and listen to is out of tune.
We have learned to stretch the octave for wire stringed instruments [piano, e.g.]
and so professional music may be slightly out of tune. With frequency, however, slight is significant.
We are used to being out of tune. We always chant in tune however. When we chant, hum, sing, we activate the rhythm within us, regenerate our self, re-establishing harmony within our self and with each other. Chanting extends the vowel sounds which increase order. We can create harmonious groups which enable us to work together.

The growth of seedlings is encouraged by harmonious sounds.

November is National American Indian Heritage Month.
This is about honoring what we can learn from Indigenous Native Americans. Indigenous singing, drumming and dancing resonates with many. It renews our connections with our selves and Mother Earth.

Ancestors help the living remain alive. We honor our ancestors by acknowledging them. They help us by interrupting our inherited traumas.

Some things Indigenous people would like others to know about can be found at: http://www.neetopkkeetopk.com/wanisido.htm

Do You Know? ...
Sound -- toning -- connects us with NOW.
We chant only in the present. When we chant we
maintain self in the present moment as we listen to
self, to what we are mindful and so connect with self.
Sound keeps us alive. Chanting sustains us. Sound
creates form. Every form has its own sound, its own
frequency. Everything is frequency, vibration. When
we make sounds we are emitting frequencies which
interact with the other frequencies around us,
including self. There is no separation in sound.
Sound dissolves boundaries
