Compassion Replaces Fear.

Living in the Now Newsletter
August 27, 2018
Medicine Pauwau, Aug. 25th: The village met to discuss how the ongoing Earth changes may affect us as individuals, families and community, as well as what we can do about it now.
It was expressed by many that all are affected and that many are willing to help out. The issue of protecting our communities from those with different mindsets, however, needs resolving.
Some ideas and suggestions:
Build a better connection system, a communication network.
[People signed up for emails.]
Get to know one another better. [Meet regularly, perhaps monthly.]
Support the Repair Café and expand the idea — repair the world. [Setup a table]
Harmonize internal and external relationships.
Take time for self care and to heal.
Nurture ourselves, each other, and the community.
Improve public transportation.
Educate self and each other on existing systems.
Improve use & coordination of existing resources.
[Sally will coordinate with Seed Song Farm.]
Etaoqua will begin a Newsletter to notify all of ongoing efforts.
It was decided to improve communications with each other and to continue
these talks about once a month.
We closed with a forgiveness ceremony.

Do You Know? - An indigenous “village”
is a group of related families living together in an
area large enough to periodically relocate the dwellings
and the growing fields. They’re moved every 10 years with
a 30 year period of non use of each part of the land. Crops
are rotated every year in a given area and moved to a new
area every 10 years along with the dwellings and personal
gardens. The village is entirely self governing, “sovereign”,
selecting its own leaders and village customs.
Villages are affiliated with others of related
families as a nation or “tribe”.
