Mind is the Builder

Living in the Now Newsletter
March 31, 2018

    Mind is the Builder:
Thoughts are things. The mind is trained by what we allow it to think, to focus on, to dream about. To live in the Now, we think in the Now. Change the words we’re using to be in the present. “I am doing it.” Eliminate “Should, would, used to.” Replace “had” with “have”. Instead of “I was thinking,” try “I am thinking.” “Was” is past, done with. “Am” is ongoing. Which better fits the current situation?
The words we use also affect our mood. Play with this. Have fun with it.

    Sovereignty
We are responsible for actively maintaining and exercising our sovereignty, individually and collectively. There are those who work very hard to have us go their way, for it is the law that we have freedom of choice. By being ever alert, we can sidestep the many diversions and distractions, set up to have us forget our purposes and focus. As we consciously choose our path, the direction we set affects all around us, our relatives, friends, and even strangers in our vicinity, for we are energetically connected. Remembering and knowing who we are, where we are from, and where we go is helpful to all, ourselves, our friends and Mother Earth. Being sovereign is being true to self, respecting and honoring our own integrity, as we respect and honor others.
Wanisi do

We create our own destiny.       We are our destiny.

Do You Know? - M’hicanuk have 4
decision making councils: The women, the young
men [warriors], the elders [retired warriors] and the
children. Every decision is made by consensus within each
group and then by consensus among all 4 groups. All are born into
the children’s council, then, invited into one of the others at the
appropriate time. The children’s council often decides earlier
than the other 3. This makes it easier for the other 3 groups
to form consensus as the children rarely change their minds.
A consensus is reached when the concerns
of all have been heard and addressed.
