         -   Peace Tree Planting Ceremony on Saturday at 9AM 
         On Saturday September 30 at 9am, on Pow Wow grounds, Jeremiah ˜Wolf Thundercloud” McDonald, wolf clan, Mohawk, will plant The Tree of Peace. 
        The Mohawk are the Eastern Door of the Great Peace League, a confederation of nations known as the Iroquois Confederacy, who follow the Great Law of Peace. Jeremiah is wolf clan and brother to the wolf. As an ambassador for peace and friendship, he teaches and educates in the ancient traditions of his ancestors longhouse music and dances and their heritage to protect and preserve our natural environment.

 Nicolls Treaty Renewal on Sunday at 9 AM 
        On Sunday, October 1, at 9am, Vincent Mann, Ramapough Turtle Clan Chief, will be leading the annual Nicolls Treaty Renewal with the Ulster County Clerk's office.
         Richard Nicolls/Esopus Indian Treaty, 1665
Titled "An Agreement made between Richard Nicolls Esq. Governor under his Royal Highness the Duke of Yorke and the Sachems and People called the Sopes Indyans", this is written on page one of a treaty that settled hostilities between settlers to this region and the Leni Lenape that were its original inhabitants.
The full treaty along with several renewals of the peace are available in the Nicolls/Esopus Peace Treaty of 1665.
 
 
          - Condolence Ceremony - Chief Mann with Hurley Town Supervisor McKnight 
        A Condolence Ceremony will also be led by Chief Mann with Hurley Town Supervisor Melinda McKnight whose ancestors were among the original Dutch settlers of Hurley. 
The Ramapough Lenape Nation encompasses Passaic County NJ, as well as Warwick and surrounding areas in southern New York and northern New Jersey.
