A Time to Mourn, A Time to Heal

Living in the Now Newsletter
February 27, 2023

We are all aware of Karma. Karma allows us to let go of unresolved emotional issues as we face them. The reason we carry Karma from one lifetime to another is because it is not dealt with in the lifetime it occurs.
The first step in resolving any issue is to acknowledge it. Pretending it does not exist keeps it with us. Taking a good look lets us see an issue as it is: the cause(s), the parameters, maybe even what can to be done to resolve it. The only valid reason for not resolving it now is we are not emotionally ready. A day to build up emotional strength may be all we need.
We prepare to face an emotional challenge the same as for any spiritual activity. We focus on our breath. This relaxes us, allowing us to feel and think better. We raise our energy levels, perhaps with uplifting music, walking in the sunshine, smiling and laughing, doing acts of kindness, etc. We set our intention. We admit that we may have an unresolved issue.
Then we begin to look at it. We may just review it for a while. If we are not aware of why it is an issue for us, we can question self on this, maybe writing down possible reasons. Dreams may offer clues. At times the reason(s) we are upset is very obvious. We, however, may be frustrated because we feel there is nothing to be done, nothing we can do.
There are no time constraints. The process may be split into manageable, comfortable time periods. Frequently, we may not readily see how we can resolve the matter.
There are several steps we can take even when not clear on a resolution. Often, there is a sense of loss. Accept this feeling and all other feelings associated with the matter. Express gratitude for our feelings. Reaffirm love of self and forgive self for anything we are judging self for doing or not doing. Reaffirm love for all others involved, forgiving them for whatever may have been done.
Some may question if we should directly communicate physically with others involved. It is not necessary. Speaking with others spiritually in our hearts is important but they may not be available or receptive to speak with in the physical.
As we forgive self and others, we may begin to see and understand the issue better. This may include what else might have been done and/or why it could not. We may see also why the event occurred and what may be done to prevent it or similar events from happening in the future.
We allow self to mourn, to be grateful for the experiences we have, and permit self to heal as we replace our not so good feelings with love and forgiveness.
