Who’s in Charge?

Living in the Now Newsletter
October 27, 2020

Nothing happens to us unless we permit it. Nothing can be done to us or for us without our consent. We allow things to occur by deciding what we wish. Or not. We are in charge.

If we actively dream and plan we are choosing our path. If we do not actively imagine our life we wish to see, we get what we fear, as like attracts like, or we get what someone else decides.

Remember we are spiritual beings having a physical experience. Spirit does not see nor hear the negatives, the "not" or the "don't".

Voting is an active choice beginning with whether we choose to participate. Non choice is a decision. Among indigenous Americans, if a hundred people live in a village and only 20 people show up for a vote, or even a meeting, the matter is deemed to be not yet ready for consideration and discussion. Among many tribal nations, decisions must be unanimous and are deferred until all are in agreement, including the children.

Elections are not about the people we can vote for but about whether we continue with the current situation or decide it's time for a change. What we wish to change can be on multiple levels: spiritual, mental, emotional, and/or physical.

We have many choices to make. Maintaining and improving energy levels, or not, is a choice. Living in peace or fear is a choice. Eating the most beneficial food available or settling for someone else's idea is a choice. Engaging in worthwhile activities is a choice. Respecting Earth Mother and all living creatures is a crucial everyday decision. Being harmonious or contrary is an often challenging choice.

Cooperating, being sovereign, withholding judgment, honoring our soul selves, respecting self and others are all important choices. Choosing service to self over service to others is a critical choice. We are here to help each other. This may include challenging others to do their best. It does include allowing others to choose their own path whether we would go that way or not. Choosing to impede others, interfering in their chosen path, however, is not so good.

To be human is to know and to choose.

        Our choice.

All choices matter. Some more than others.
