Two Row Wampum Treaty Enactment 10th Anniversary Concert,
Sunday, July 30, .2023, 1:00 - 4:00 PM at the Rail Trail Cafe
.....An Historic Event:
In 1613 “The Two Row Wampum Treaty” confirmed that the colonists and indigenous peoples would live side by side in peace like two rows of canoers on the river of life.
On July 29th, 2013, the Iroquois (Haudenosuanee) sent a flotilla of canoes from Rensselaer to the UN to protect the Hudson (from fracking and other harmful practices) and to renew the treaty.
In Beacon they were greeted by an all-day music festival which thousands attended.
In remembrance we will celebrate the river of life together with an outdoor concert at the Rail Trail Café, rain or shine. (Opening ceremonies at 1 pm)
